Where Do Downloaded TikTok Videos Go?
Find the file you just saved – on any phone or computer
Start with your browser’s Downloads list or the folder selected in Save to Files. Safari commonly uses Files → Downloads on iPhone; Android and desktop browsers commonly use a Downloads folder. If you chose Save Video or Save Image in a share panel, check Photos. Search for the creator or post number in the filename.
Find a download in ten seconds
- Open the browser's download list. Chrome and Edge: Ctrl+J (Cmd+Shift+J in Chrome on a Mac). Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+Y. Safari on Mac: Option+Command+L. On phones, the browser menu has a Downloads entry.
- Or search by name. Search for the creator, post number or site name, such as ReelTik_creator_post.mp4. Image and format suffixes help distinguish files from the same post.
- Move it where you want it. On iPhone use Share → Save Video (or Save Image); on Android the gallery already shows the Download folder.
How the files are named
Names normally begin with the site name, creator and post number: ReelTik_creator_post.mp4. HD and watermarked files add _hd or _watermark, audio ends in .mp3, and photos have an index such as _01.jpg. The extension can change with the source image format.
If you download the same file twice, most browsers add (1) or a similar suffix instead of overwriting the first copy.
iPhone and iPad: check the route you used
For a Safari download, check Files → Browse → iCloud Drive → Downloads, or the location set in Safari. For Save to Files, use the folder you chose. Save Video or Save Image in a share panel sends the file to Photos when that option is available.
In Chrome on iPhone, open the downloaded file and use SAVE… → Files, or Share → Save to Files. Check the folder you selected; a preview opened in another app is not a permanent saved copy.
Changing the download folder
On a computer you can pick another folder in the browser settings: in Chrome and Edge under Settings → Downloads, in Firefox under Settings → General → Files and Applications, and in Safari under Settings → General → File download location. You can also turn on “ask where to save each file”.
On iPhone, Safari's location is chosen in Settings → Apps → Safari → Downloads (Settings → Safari → Downloads on older iOS). Android browsers generally save to the shared Download folder.
Default download locations
| Device and browser | Saved to | Quick way to open it |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad – Safari | Files → iCloud Drive → Downloads | Download arrow next to the address bar |
| iPhone / iPad – Chrome | The folder selected in Save to Files | Chrome menu → Downloads, or Files |
| Android – Chrome | Internal storage → Download | Menu ⋮ → Downloads |
| Android – Samsung Internet | My Files → Download | Menu → Downloads |
| Windows – Chrome / Edge / Firefox | This PC → Downloads | Ctrl+J (Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+Y) |
| Mac – Safari / Chrome | Downloads folder in the Dock and Finder | Option+Command+L in Safari |

Download location questions
I downloaded a TikTok on my iPhone but it's not in Photos. Where is it?
If you used a browser download, check Files → Downloads or the folder you selected, then Share → Save Video. If you used a share panel, check the destination you chose. A ready button alone does not mean the file was saved.
Where do TikTok downloads go on Android?
To the Download folder in internal storage. Google Photos and most gallery apps show it as a Download album.
Why can't I find the file by its video title?
Names include the site, creator and post number rather than the video caption. Search for the creator or post number; the browser may add a suffix for repeat downloads.
Did the download finish?
Check the browser’s Downloads list or open the file at the destination you chose. If the site asks for another tap, save is still waiting for that tap. Cancelling a share panel does not save the file.
Where do MP3 and photo downloads go?
To the same Downloads folder as videos. On iPhone, photos can be moved to Photos with Share → Save Image.
Does ReelTik keep a copy of my downloads?
No media copy is retained on the server. Some supported videos go directly from TikTok to your browser; other downloads are relayed through the site.
